I Like My Cat And All...

You might have a hard time reading the bumper sticker, but it says, "I Love My Cat" and this driver even has the double-whammy of a license plate frame that says "My Cat's The Best" (I don't think you can read the frame). I do enjoy my cat - I have posted pictures of Princess Fuzzyboots many times on the blog, but there is no way my wife could ever con me into getting either of these items for my car. For a minute I thought that Diana might have gotten a new car, as I passed I looked to see if she was driving.

Dance Cat

I think I posted on this a couple months ago, but Chloe's dance class has a cat that hangs around. This cat loves people and attention. It tries all night to get into the dance studio and whenever it is successful it gets kicked back out to the street.

Last night at dance, I got kicked out while the girls tries on their costumes for their dance performace (next Thurs and Fri). While I was outside the dance cat came up to me and rubbed against my legs and meowed at me. Here are the pictures of the dance cat:

On the way out of dance the cat followed Chloe, Diana and I out to the car. Chloe named it "Poof" because it has a poofy tail. Then Chloe had to personally escort Poof across the street. It has never taken so long to get to the car and head home after dance.

Cat In The Hat...I Mean Bag

Diana is always loading up our camera with pictures of out cat, Princess Fuzzyboots. I, of course, then post these pictures on my blog. Here is the latest picture of the cat in an Albertson's bag on our bed.

Kitty likes fireworks

The kitty jumped up and blocked our view of the fireworks for a while. What a mean cat. If you look closely you will see some fireworks in the background.

All in all it was a great first day back in Utah. I have missed it.

The Embarcadero

I am posting this as I walk down the embarcadero in San Diego. This is a really great place to live. The weather is great. I just finished talking to Diana and I miss the family. It is time to get home. Diana told me the cat got out today. 4 hours later she came back and everyone was happy. That was a close call. It is the second time the cat has gotten out. Both times she has come back on her own. I guess that means she is ours. This reminds me of the last Catalyst North America I was at. I fly home and after a long week I finally climb into the car. The cat was in the car with the family. I was like what is going on? Diana tried to play it cool, but it soon came out that the carbon monoxide alarm had been beeping. That could be trouble, so I asked what kind of beep. Diana says one short beep every couple minutes. That is when I had to break it to her that the short beeps mean that the battery is dying. I am sure the cat enjoyed the ride to the airport.

For my next trick

This video is for my wife. So when she checks the blog next she will see some fun stuff.

So the blackberry enterprise server at work has been down. I haven't been getting work email for the past two days. It is a totally different feeling now. I will be away from my computer and when I get back I will have 7 emails and be like - "when the heck did I get these?" I don't like it. I have gotten so used to having my email when I need it. Actually, not when I NEED it, but when I WANT it. And I want it as soon as it is sent to ME! If it is not real-time it is too slow.

Yesterday at work I gave a presentation during the company meeting on collaboration. It was an overview of what I spent the first three months of the year on. Basically, I took SharePoint sites that had multiple lists and built filtered views into the lists. I created things like rolling date filters and status filters. I then took lists from other sites and imported them into the pages to give our service directors a consolidated view of everything that they need to keep track of. After that was done I built automated email reminders for the lists. These reminders have to go to analysts and consultants and when items are past due the reminders need to go to the service director as well. It is pretty amazing stuff (to me). But during the meeting I felt like the person in the meeting that keeps going and going even after everyone has stopped listening. I heard some compliments on the presentation today and now our consulting organization wants me to build something for them that is like the R&A dashboards. We will see. I had a long meeting today with Stu, the VP of Consulting. I am giving myself a week to try and get something built for him, after that week I have to focus on Catalyst, and I think I will be on Catalyst stuff from early May to the end of Catalyst.

A couple last items. If you want to use an RSS feed put the URL http://mattroblyer.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default?alt=rss into your feed reader or if you use IE7 you can use their RSS reader, I played with it and it worked good for me, just add me as a favorite and you will see when things get updated. We got Juno and something I can't remember from Blockbuster, so be ready for some more reviews coming up. And, "It's All Mac's Fault."
